How to disable Task Scanning in NetBeans 6 plus

Though I love NetBeans IDE, the task scanning after NetBeans starts is irritating for large projects. Hence I decided to disable the task scanning which makes Netbeans not to respond or become very slow. To disable task scanning, go to Tools --- Options and then select Editor tab and uncheck "Enable Java Tasklist" checkbox (which is shown in the screenshot below).

[Update on 13-Oct-2011] - From NetBeans 7 installing "Scan on Demand" module is helpful in eliminating the sluggishness of NetBeans. More info at http://wiki.netbeans.org/ScanOnDemand
